What is Scratch?

Scratch is a programming language and an online community where children can program interactive media such as stories, games, and animation. As children create with Scratch, they learn to think creatively, work collaboratively, and reason systematically.

Scratch Jr

At Birchgrove Primary School we use the Scratch Jr app to teach programming to year 2 and 3 pupils. You can download the app free in the Apple and Google Play Stores.

Scratch 3.0

At Birchgrove Primary School we teach programming through Scratch 3.0 to years 3, 4, 5 and 6.

You can access Scratch Online here - which will require creating a free account.

Alternatively you can download the offline version of Scratch here.
