Year 4 and 5 Betty Campbell Rap

Betty Campbell Rapping Challenge

Mr Williams would like you to record a short video showcasing your rapping skills.

He is looking for a firm sense of beat and rhythm, plus a loud, confident delivery. You can choose to do the whole rap or part of it just remember to rap without a beat in the background.

The rapping winners will record a final version of the song which we can use to create a lyric video to send on to Show Racism the Red Card - which they will absolutely love!

Pob lwc pawb!!!!

Black History Month – Betty Campbell

All she heard was ‘no!’

All she heard was ‘no!’

But she never

Listened to the doubters

She never gave up

Persistence was the key to succeed

Insults only made her stronger

A teacher

Then became a headteacher

Betty Campbell

A role model x2

Betty’s dad

Died in the war

Betty’s family

Was really poor

But Betty’s dream was to be a teacher

She decided to make a rule

She would be the best in school

She was focused

Confident

She concentrated every day

She didn’t listen to what they’d say

In every exam she got an A

A teacher

Then became a headteacher

Betty Campbell

A role model x2

Helping the community

One step at a time

A councillor who never gave up…

She showed courage

No-one-could-stop-her

No-one-could-stop-her

Racism never

Interfered with her dreams

A teacher

Then became a headteacher

Betty Campbell

A role model x2

Betty worked so hard so hard

       To achieve her goals

She didn’t let the others get her down

Get her down

She didn’t let those teachers

Take away her dream ‘cos she knew

She could do it

And people should never

Be judged by the colour of their skin

Racism cannot win

Racism cannot win
