Smart Devices

Children are using smart devices from a much younger age than ever before. Therefore it’s essential we talk to our children about how to use them safely. There are many positive benefits to the new technology at our disposal these days – but there are plenty of downsides too. As a parent or carer, it’s important you understand these risks and how you can take steps to protect your family against them.

Kodu

Kodu helps the children create games on the PC and Xbox via a simple visual programming language. We use Kodu to teach creativity, problem solving, storytelling, as well as programming. The possibilities are endless when using Kodu.

You can then create your own account to help save worlds or even explore pre-made worlds and programme them.

Scratch

With Scratch, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations — and share your creations with others in the online community.

We use Scratch to help the children learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century.
