Blwyddyn Newydd Dda

Firstly we would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year. We have organised your home learning tasks for you to be getting on with for the week. Remember those pupils attending school will be completing the tasks in the school setting. Most of your tasks are on google classroom where you can find the links and information in more detail.

I will place the links on here for those who are having any technical difficulties with accessing google classroom and you can then send us your work via email or dojo.

Christmas Home Learning Tasks

We have created a number of home learning tasks for you to work through. Lots of your work is on Google Classroom.

Context

We really enjoyed listening to lots of different Christmas traditions last week. Today We would like you to research Christmas traditions from around the world. Find out about how they celebrate, what do they eat, when are gifts exchanged. Your first slide can be all about your family traditions. What do you do Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? Do you watch a Christmas movie? Have an early gift? Leave treats out for Santa? For those who do not celebrate Christmas talk about your special holiday including Eid.

I would like you to research a minimum of four different countries. I look forward to hearing about what you find out.

Maths investigations and challenges

On the attached links on google classroom you will find  a number of math's investigations and challenges. Lots of them have a Christmas theme to keep us all in the festive mood. You can answer these using google docs. You can put them all onto one google docs form, make sure you clearly put the heading of the Maths Challenge you are answering so I don't get confused. If you would prefer you can send separate documents to me as and when you complete them. Enjoy.

Comprehensions

On the attached links on google classroom you will find two reading comprehensions.

Use google docs to answer these. Please remember to answer exactly like we do in the class using full sentences, capital letters and full stops. Number your questions correctly.

Christmas crafts

For those of you who would like to get crafty this Christmas. I have attached some Christmas card and Origami ideas, some of them are really challenging. I would love to see some pictures of your completed attempts, you can send these to me on google classroom  or via dojo if its easier.
Good Luck

Mathletics and Blog

We have set some new challenges on Mathletics for you and your Blog is there for you to continue to work on.

If you have any problems parents can use Dojo and children can write us a message in the private comments box on google classroom

Many thanks

Mrs Hughes and Mr Volk
