Children in various year groups spoke with their representatives from the School Council in their class. They didn't think it was fair the way the dinner rota was run.
The School Council set up a small committee and spoke with the dinner ladies to gain their views. They agreed to trial a new rota which allowed boys/girls to go in first alternating each day with different year groups.
The new rota was used for 3 weeks. The committee went back to see the dinner ladies and gain their views on the new rota. They all agreed it wasn't working as classes come out to the yard at slightly different times and it wasn't consistent.
After discussing this with the dinner ladies, they all agreed to go back to the old rota which is now up outside the dinner hall.
