Thursday 19th November
Whole School Assembly on anti-bullying where children discussed what bullying is, different types of bullying and what to do if you think you or someone else is being bullied. The assembly then went onto how to be kind and what acts of kindness children can do for each other. School Council informed children about the anti bullying poster competition for the following week.
Our main focus this year for anti-bullying week was not only to teach the children about bullies and what they do but also to promote kindness within the whole school. Different year groups had ongoing activities in their classrooms all about kindness including making buckets, how to make new friends, making positive friendship hands. School Council have now introduced 'Super Spies' to award children in the achievers assembly who they think have been kind during the school day.
Blue Friday
Children came into school wearing their uniform and something blue to raise awareness that we are an anti-bullying school.
Anti bullying poster competition.
School Council held an anti-bullying poster competition for the whole school with winners from each year group. There were approximately 90 entries and judging the competition was very hard. Here are the School Council judging the competition and the winners which also included a child from RJ. Well done to everyone who entered, Birchgrove has talented children.
