The fire service came to visit today to teach us all about fire safety. We were able to see the equipment on the fire engines and even have a go at the fire hoses!
Mrs Kinnard came in to talk about new electrical stimulation technology that helps her walk- we were able to ask her lots of questions!
Sports Day- We all had a brilliant time participating in all of the events!
We had a great time playing cricket and watching Glamorgan play at Swalec Stadium!
Year 5 have been enjoying creating their own dance routines this week during their indoor PE sessions.
Grand Pier- Weston-Super-Mare
Year 5 had a fantastic day at the Grand Pier. After spending this half term learning all about forces, momentum, gravity and friction they got the chance to experience them for themselves. We started with a talk about the rides, how they work and what forces were used. Then the children had 2 hours to try out as many rides as they could.
Year 5 really enjoyed science week and had a go at some fun experiments such as Catch a Rainbow and finding out what happens to flowers and celery when they are put in coloured water.
Year 5 have had a busy week with a visit from PC Mark to talk about anti social behaviour and we also had some people from Childline in to talk to us about child protecting and who we can talk to.
Story Telling and Writing Workshop.
Year 5 were lucky today to have a visit from Rob Lewis, a children's author, who spoke to them about how to write and tell stories and also gave them a quick class in painting.
Year 5 would like to thank all who attended our art gallery yesterday. We really enjoyed showing off our talents and selling our work. We raised a fantastic £123.11 to go towards our school trip fund.
Trip to Cardiff Museum
Year 5 had a lovely day at the Museum today looking at a variety of art movements and artist and also listening to a talk about Welsh Landscapes. We also had some time to sketch some of our favourite pieces.
We have had a fun afternoon painting in the style of the artist Kandinsky who used primary and secondary colours in his work. First we practiced with tones and then we made our own Kandinsky circles.

We had a fantastic afternoon at our Beast Creator Gallery. Thank you to all the children and parents who came to view our work. We really enjoyed showing off our hard work and explaining our Arthropods to you.

Year 5 have had a lovely morning at St Marks Church. We Went on a Christmas walk through the keyhole and had the chance to make some Christmas crafts.
8 children from Year 5 entered a climbing competition at Boulders.
Class 5W really enjoyed performing their X Factor style assembly for you this morning. Trying to find Henry a new wife and introducing our new topic Beast Creator. We hope you enjoyed it.
Class 5J enjoyed performing their Tudor play for you today. Explaining all the facts they had learned about life in Tudor times. We hope you enjoyed it.
Class 5W had a fantastic day at the Sky Sports, Youth Sports Academy taster day. They took part in a variety of sporting activities and games and got the chance to meet a selection of athletes who have achieved high levels in their chosen sports.
Year 5 had a lovely afternoon hunting for mini beasts as an introduction to our new topic Beats Creator.
We had a great day at St Fagans looking at Tudor houses and learning all about the clothes they wore in Tudor times.
Year 5 worked hard together using all their thinking skills to save a worm from an upturned life boat without him falling in the water! Working together was the key.
