Seren a Sbarc Assembly

Croeso Mawr i Seren a Sbarc

Look who popped in to join us at this mornings assemly, Seren a Sbarc!!

Croeso MAWR to Birchgrove Primary!!

Seren and Sbarc will be seen quite a lot around the school over the coming months as they are the official characters for the Welsh Language Charter – Siarter Iaith.

The main aim of the charter is to create an increase in the children’s social use of Welsh and we would like to inspire our children to use Welsh in every aspect of their lives.  Over the next few years the school will have the opportunity to win a bronze, silver and gold award. The Welsh Language Charter will need support from the pupils, school council, staff, t parents, governors and the community in order to succeed in winning these awards.

There are many advantages to us taking part in the Siarter Iaith and raising the standard of Welsh currently being spoken at school will have a positive effect on their educational attainment.

                                                       ' Congratulations'

Llongyfarchiadau to Paige who entered a competition to designing a poster as part of Race Equality 2019. She was selected from over 300 children, of which 12 winners were chosen. Paige attended a special evening with her family at Saint Fagan's to collect her prize and her design will be used along with the other 11 winners to create a calendar.

Da iawn Paige, great work!!
