This week Year 2 are doing a very egg-citing egg-speriment! We have to "Save the Egg!". We are looking at ways to protect an egg from cracking once it has been dropped. The children are choosing the best packaging to protect the egg. 
We have had a wonderful Welsh week! We have been creating collages in the style of Welsh artist Kyffin Williams, we have been cooking cawl and porridge, we have learned and recited the poem "Dw i'n Hoffi" and we have comparing Wales and Botswana using a  bridge map.
Bendigedig pawb! Diolch for the fantastic Eisteddfod entries. You have all worked so hard on your models and your baking entries look delicious! Gwaith gwych!
We have had a fantastic day at Sophia Gardens Cricket Ground. We learnt about the history of the gardens and stadium and enjoyed playing a spot of cricket.  
A big thank you to the Spectrum team for visiting Year 2 today to talk about how it is good to be different.
We have had a great start to the new year. We are learning about Cymru. We have investigated differences in temperature between Cardiff and Snowdonia and researched different places in Wales and plotted them on our own maps. 
We are having a fantastically festive Friday! The children all look fabulous in their Christmas jumpers!
Our Christmas concert was absolutely ardderchog! Da iawn to all of the children you were all Christmas Birchgrove stars!
We have been very busy in Mrs Claus' kitchen cooking up Christmas treats! We used our weighing skills and added a dash of creative spice!
What a wonderful Christmas concert week! The children were absolutely amazing! Da iawn pawb a Nadolig Llawen!
We have been very busy elves getting ready for Christmas! The children have been busy making Christmas puppets.
