Arabic Club

Arabic Club

With Mrs Thomas on a Friday in the Learning Resource Centre at 12.30pm.

Did you know that after English, Arabic is the next most widely spoken language in our school. In recognition of this we have decided to celebrate the language and culture by creating an Arabic club.

What do we do?

We have been learning all about the Arabic alphabet, writing letter shapes and learning simple greetings.

When is this and which year group for?

It runs for thirty minutes every Friday lunchtime for year four.

Who runs this?

We have two ladies from a local mosque who support us and also one Arabic speaking parent.

We also use Arabic speaking pupils as helpers in our group.

Friday 6th May

Today we have been practising writing letter shapes for the first four letters in the Arabic alphabet. We have also been practising writing our names in Arabic. A big thank you to Shukran to Mrs Al-Shayeb for helping us write our names.

Friday 18th December

We had a wonderful time today at our end of term Christmas party.  We sampled the delights of some delicious Arabic food as well as some traditional British food.  A huge thank you to the Arabic speaking members of our community for making the food!

We look forward to seeing you all again the first week back in the new term - SHUKRAN!
