The Birchgrove PTFA exists to bring children, staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school, to enhance the education of our children. All parents and members of the school community are encouraged to get involved, even if they only have a small amount of time available. All families are automatically members of the PTFA when their child joins Birchgrove, so if you have any fundraising ideas that you’d like to contribute, please get involved.
Not all of our events are held as fundraisers. Every September we have a welcome afternoon which involves lots of fun and activities for new reception children and their parents. Also, the disco and fish and chip supper for the year 6 leavers’ is provided with the aim of giving the children a good time and as a way of thanking families for their continued support for the PTFA.
Our biggest fundraisers are the two fayres at Christmas and in the summer which make up the major part of our annual fundraising efforts. Funds are also raised through activities such as our discos, cake sales, raffle draws, parent and family entertainment evenings, pamper nights and our Friday Tuck Hub. We also produce concert DVDs to buy, and encourage as many people as we can to sign up to our easyfundraising page that can be used to raise money when shopping online.
We also rely on the support of local businesses to sponsor our events, and for that we are extremely grateful. We aim to send out at least one PTFA newsletter per term. Our well
established Friday PTFA Tuck Hub is also a useful way of letting you know about our work, and you can also like us on Facebook - Birchgrove Primary School PTFA - to receive regular updates.
